"The rhythm of the body, the melody of the mind, and the harmony of the soul create the symphony of life."

Discover how research identifies the CRY1 protein as a molecular brake that makes radiotherapy more effective during specific windows.
Why your chronotype ,whether you’re a natural morning person or a genetic night owl, dictates the most lethal time to target cancer cells.
Simple, science-backed strategies to strengthen your internal rhythm through light hygiene, time-restricted eating, and targeted nutrients.
Hey Everyone!

Today, I want to dive straight into a topic that is creating a massive paradigm shift in how we approach our healing journeys, Chronoradiotherapy.
We often think of our medical treatments as static events, but research has shown that the effectiveness of radiotherapy is actually deeply tied to our internal biological clocks.
By understanding how our bodies fluctuate throughout a 24-hour cycle, we can start to use time as a tool to maximize the power of our treatment while protecting our healthy cells.
How CRY1 Works
So, what exactly did the researchers find? It all comes down to a tiny but powerful repair protein called Cryptochrome1 (CRY1). Every cell in our body, including cancer cells, has its own internal clock.
The study discovered that CRY1 acts as a molecular brake for DNA repair.
Our cells are designed to fix DNA breaks to survive. However, the efficiency of this repair isn't constant; it fluctuates in a 24-hour circadian oscillation.
In a healthy human cycle, DNA repair activity actually peaks in the early morning. As the day goes on, CRY1 levels naturally build up.
When CRY1 levels are high, typically in the afternoon and evening, the protein physically attaches to the site of DNA damage. It grabs onto a partner protein called CCAR2 and essentially smothers an enzyme called CtIP, which is the very tool the cell needs to start the repair process.
For cancer treatment, this is a molecular clamp we can use to our advantage. Radiotherapy works by breaking the DNA of tumor cells.
If we administer that radiation in the afternoon or evening when CRY1 levels are high, the tumor’s brake is on. It can’t fix the damage we’re sending its way, making the treatment significantly more lethal to the cancer.
The Daily Immune Ritual I Trust All Winter Long
Winter is when I’m most intentional about supporting my immune system, and Pique’s Daily Immune has become one of my non-negotiables. It’s the kind of daily ritual that feels supportive, not overwhelming and one I actually look forward to.
What sets Daily Immune apart is its liposomal vitamin C, which helps deliver nutrients more effectively to your bloodstream and immune cells, where they can truly do their job. I notice the difference in how steady and resilient I feel, especially during colder months when my body needs extra support. The addition of elderberry gives it that extra layer of seasonal immune defense I trust.
Daily Immune supports my everyday immunity, collagen production, skin resilience, and antioxidant protection all in one simple step. I love that it fits seamlessly into my routine and tastes bright and refreshing.
Winter wellness doesn’t need to be extreme to be effective. For me, Daily Immune is an easy, consistent way to feel supported, strong, and cared for all season long
Your Chronotype
One thing I always tell you is that no two bodies are the same. This is where your chronotype comes in. While the afternoon rule works for most, your personal peak for CRY1 might be shifted based on whether you are a morning person or a night owl.
About 1 in 75 people actually carry a specific night owl mutation in the CRY1 gene that stretches their internal day longer than 24 hours, delaying their biological processes significantly.
If you’re a lifelong night owl, your optimal window for treatment might be even later in the evening than someone who naturally wakes up at 5:00 AM.

Strengthening Your Internal Clock
To get the most out of chronoradiotherapy, we need to make sure our internal clocks are as loud and clear as possible. If our rhythms are muted by poor sleep or irregular schedules, the treatment window becomes harder to hit.
Here are some of my favorite ways to nourish your biological rhythm.

Light Hygiene: Sunlight is the master time-giver. Get 20 minutes of morning sun to reset your clock . At night, be strict about avoiding blue light from screens, which suppresses melatonin, the hormone that helps synchronize the clocks in your liver, breast, and prostate tissues.

Time-Restricted Eating: Research suggests that eating all your meals within an 8-to-12-hour window during daylight can help entrain your peripheral clocks and may even alleviate cancer-related fatigue by stabilizing your metabolism.

Supportive Nutrients: Magnesium is involved in over 300 pathways and is essential for sleep quality. I love taking it in the evening to help the nervous system settle. Vitamin D is also critical, as it actually regulates core clock genes like Clock and Per2.
