Forgiveness: A Cancer Fighter?

Chris Wark on the healing power of forgiveness, plus the potential hidden dangers of the keto diet.

The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.

Hey Crew!

Carli here. We talk a lot in this community about the physical battle with cancer. Like the diets, the protocols, and the supplements. But I want to talk about the other battle. The one that happens inside, in the quiet moments. The emotional and spiritual weight of it all. It’s a heavy burden, and one that traditional medicine so often ignores.

I recently had the incredible opportunity to sit down and talk with Chris Wark, a man whose story and wisdom have inspired so many of us. We covered a lot of ground, but one thing he said really hit me. He talked about forgiveness.

I know, it might sound a little out there. What does forgiveness have to do with cancer? But the way Chris explained it, forgiveness makes perfect sense. He talked about how holding onto deep-seated anger, and resentment becomes a chronic, biological stressor.

It keeps your body locked in a permanent “fight-or-flight” mode. When you’re constantly replaying old hurts, your body is flooded with stress hormones like cortisol. Your heart rate stays up, your muscles are tense, and your system is on high alert.

Essentially, your body never gets the signal that it's safe. It never fully enters the “rest and repair” state it needs to heal. It’s like your own powerful immune system is being held back by this invisible weight of unforgiveness.

The choice to forgive isn’t about letting someone else off the hook. It’s about freeing yourself. It’s a conscious decision to release that biological stress, to tell your body that the emergency is over.

Hearing from people like Chris, who truly understand that healing involves the whole person, is why we built this community. At Cancer Crew, you get direct access to interviews with leading minds in alternative health who see you, not just your diagnosis.

Let's Talk About Keto

You’ve probably heard about the ketogenic diet. It’s everywhere, right? The idea that you can starve cancer by cutting out carbs and sugar is incredibly appealing. It sounds like a powerful, proactive strategy, and I totally get why so many people are drawn to it.

In my talk with Chris Wark, he mentioned his own doubts about keto, and it sent me down a deep research rabbit hole. What I found is something I feel I have to share with you.

Here’s the deal, the theory is based on something called the Warburg Effect, which is just a fancy way of saying many cancer cells love to feed on glucose. Cut off the glucose, and you starve the cancer. Simple. But cancer is rarely simple.

Some preclinical research in mice has shown a trade-off. While a keto diet did seem to slow down the growth of the primary tumor, it also appeared to encourage the cancer to spread to other parts of the body, a process called metastasis. Imagine you’ve starved the cancer cells in one place, so they get desperate and escape to look for food elsewhere.

Now, this isn't to say that the keto diet should be completely off the table for everyone. Each person's body and cancer journey is unique, and our bodies respond to diets differently.

The key is to stop looking at any single diet as a silver bullet and instead be open to exploring the many dietary options available to find what truly nourishes and supports your individual path to healing.
